TLDR – Weather was meh, cloudy, and about 13, not great for a beach, but perfect for a hike. Took the Kids up Ticknock for the day
Away we go
The older two kids, Maddex and Mila had end-of-the-year class trips hiking up ticknock. Since their walks, Maddex has wanted to go back to find a stick he left. Being as it’s not warm out we’ve decided to hike today vs the beach we’d wanted to visit. First, entertaining stop of the walk, Kilgobin Church to jump off a wall and climb on a tree.
Up the hill our next stop is the small pond in an old rock quarry. Chief went for a few swims in the stagnate water. Not sure how but there seems to be a rotting frozen whole turkey in the water. Chief wanted to eat it. We had to stop him a few times before we left to avoid him eating it. Maddex was unable to find the stick he left on his school hike, but we did find the base and check it out. Khaleesi kept finding fairy structures we needed to get pictures of
In the forest by the base the kids played 3 things? Someone counted to 30, the kids had to touch 3 things then hide. Thee kids are skilled at hiding. Was a fun game for a bit. On the walk home we stopped a few times for snacks, and water – by the time we were close enough to get slushees the kids were not interested they wanted to get home; crazy talk.
